Fastener Library

Look up standard fastener data. Every table shows the standard, its year and the table it comes from. The library covers:

  • Threads: metric ISO threads M1–M300, coarse and fine (ISO 724, with the selection series of ISO 261 and the preferred sizes of ISO 262); thread tolerances (ISO 965-1 and 965-2: fundamental deviations, tolerances, 6H and 6g limits of size); GB/T 192, 196, 197 and 9144; large-clearance metric threads (DIN 2510-2); metric M profile and limits of size (ASME B1.13M); unified inch threads (ASME B1.1)
  • Bolts and screws: ISO 4014, 4017, 4762, 8765, 8676; grade C bolts and screws ISO 4016 and 4018; countersunk screws ISO 10642; structural bolting assemblies EN 14399-3 (HR) and -4 (HV); GB/T 5782 and 5783; inch bolts and screws ASME B18.2.1; GB/T 9125.1 and 9125.2 (bolts for steel pipe flange connections)
  • Studs: DIN 938, 939, 835 and DIN 976-1; inch studs ASME B18.31.2; GB/T 9125.1 and 9125.2
  • Nuts: ISO 4032, 4033, 4035, 8673, 8674; GB/T 6170, 9125.1 and 9125.2; inch nuts ASME B18.2.2
  • Washers: ISO 7089, 7090, 7091, 7092, 7093-1 and the general plan ISO 887
  • Clearance holes: DIN EN 20273 and GB 5277
  • Flange bolting: the fit tables of GB/T 9125.1 (PN series) and GB/T 9125.2 (Class series), Annex A, with the length rules and strength categories of Annexes B and C
  • Property classes and selection: ISO 898-1, 898-2 and 898-3; ISO 3506-1 and 3506-2 (stainless steel bolts, screws, studs and nuts); GB/T 3098.2, 3098.6 and 3098.15; EN 1515-4 (bolting for pressure equipment); ISO 3506-6 (stainless steels for fasteners); EN 14399-1 k-classes; bolting materials for pressure and high temperature (EN 10269, DIN 267-13, DIN 17240, DIN 17280, GB/T 150.2, ASME II), which open in the material library
  • Reference tables: widths across flats (ISO 272), nominal and thread lengths (ISO 888)

Two ways in (switch at the top of the left panel):

  • By standard — the list has three layers: Basics (threads, clearance holes, lengths), Properties (strength classes and selection) and Products (bolts and screws, studs, nuts, washers). Open a layer, then a standard, to see all of its tables. Each product standard starts with a card of the data used in calculations (head type, thread, product grade, thread tolerance and strength classes by material and diameter). GB standards show the ISO standard they correspond to, and mark the cells that differ from it when both are the same edition.
  • By size — search by designation (e.g. M16, M20x1.5 or 1/2-13), thread standard (ISO or UN) or a minimum stress area or diameter. The detail follows the same order: the thread (d, P, d_2, D_1, d_3 with the ISO 261 and ISO 262 marks), the strength (A_s and the ISO 898-1 property classes), the products (bolts and screws, studs, nuts and washers, ISO first, with the GB and EN counterparts folded under it) and the clearance hole. The thread block also lists limits of size (ISO 965-2, DIN 2510-2, ASME B1.13M). The flange fit tables of GB/T 9125 appear in the detail only as a summary of where the size is used. Inch sizes (e.g. 1/2-13) list the inch bolts, screws, studs and nuts of ASME B18.2.1, B18.2.2 and B18.31.2.

Use Use in VDI 2230-1 under ISO 4014, 4017, 4762, 8765 or 8676 to open the single-bolt calculator in verification mode with that standard bolt already picked.
