BS 7910 Toughness Conversion (K / J / CTOD → K_mat)

BS 7910:2019 §7.1.4.6 — unify a single-value toughness test result into K_mat

Purpose

A Layer-1 building block: takes one toughness test value and unifies it to K_{mat} [MPa√m] for use in the fracture assessment (Section 7.3.6). Three paths (Section 7.1.4.6): direct K_{IC}; J-integral via K=\sqrt{J\,E'} (Eq. 7.15); CTOD \delta via K=\sqrt{m\,\sigma_Y\,\delta\,E'} with constraint factor m (Eq. 7.16/7.17). E'=E/(1-\nu^2).
