Theoretical Background

When direct fracture toughness test data is unavailable, K_{mat} can be estimated from Charpy V-notch (CVN) impact energy via BS 7910:2019 Annex J. Two paths: J.2.1 lower-shelf formula and J.2.2 Master Curve (Wallin 1984).
